“Dense and fruity, well integrated tannins, a long finish”
Hachette Wine Guide 2005
“The second vintage of Pierre-Jean Le Roy (advised by Jean-Philippe Fort), this wine is a testament to the careful attention paid to the vines, such as hand picking, and to vinification. The 2001 vintage was very successful: an intense purple robe with ruby reflections, aromas of red fruits with balsamic hints, smooth, fleshy tannins opening to a lot of finesse and dignity. Everything is successful to make this bottle perfect to consume in two to five years, and perfect with duck.”
The Hubert Guide - France Sud & Paris - 2004
“A very original and expressive nose with lush and ripe fruits; a flattering, smooth mouth, with bold tannins and great, persistent finish.”
Dussert-Gerber, 2010
“The 2001 is very seductive; dense, dominated by ripe strawberries, wood and earth, beautiful deep red, concentrated, full, velvety and fruity on the palate with soft tannins that are at the same time, firm. Once again, no hesitation.”
16.5/20 - Revue Vins & Terroirs Authentiques – spring
“A very beautiful, intense and deep robe of garnet purple. The bouquet is profound and combines superb sandalwood notes with aromas of macerated fruits, in particular black cherry. A touch of sweet chocolate completes the ensemble. From the attack, one appreciates the elegance of the tannins of a supple and rich vintage, very concentrated and particularly ripe. The flavors of kirsch and brandy plum brandies create a final high persistence, which merge into a perfect balance. A promising vintage!”
Weinwelt Review- Spring 2004
“An exemplary example of the modern style: aromas of cherries and wood; a sweet fruit with charming, round tannins: as a whole it is very harmonious.”

“An assertive style, pretty and aromatic nose, a fresh wine that is a real pleasure.”
The Hachette Wine Guide 2004
A vintage with a somber robe with reflections of ruby. A woody, almost burnt note dominates its expressive aromas. The tannins are suave and elegant, it was a bit overwhelmed by the barrel aging, but should refine will with a few years in the cellar.
